Bearemy®, our huggable mascot, was born on August 21st, 1998 in St. Louis, Missouri. When he came to us we knew he was a beary special friend, so how would we find the pawfect name? We put out a search in all our Build-A-Bear Workshop stores to find the beary best name for our new friend! We had lots of great ideas, but the one that fit the best was from our young friend Samantha from Madison, Illinois – Bearemy!

We offer exclusive franchise rights for countries other than the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada and the United Kingdom, which are company owned and operated.Our franchisees are responsible to own and operate all Build-A-Bear Workshop® stores within the country; we do not permit sub-franchising. The ideal franchisee will have a strong background in retail or franchising, extensive knowledge of the local real estate market, a commitment to develop the Build-A-Bear Workshop culture as well as the financial resources to develop the entire territory (capital requirements vary by country, but the minimum capital requirement will be approximately US$5 million). Existing warehouse and logistics capabilities are a plus for franchisee candidates and residence in the territory is essential.
